Retrieving Data

To retrieve data you must have the account-id, password, and encryption key. Without all 3 values data cannot be retrieved.

Encryption Key

The encryption key is the most important of the 3 values.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE ENCRYPTION KEY THEN DATA CANNOT BE RETRIEVED.
ONLY THE ACCOUNT HOLDER KNOWS THE ENCRYPTION KEY
Securing Data Simply is not able to lookup the encryption key.
The encryption key is NOT saved on the storage platform.
There is no programme that allows the encryption key to be recovered.
There is no 'back-door' entry to the data that allows it to be decrypted without the encryption key.

We cannot provide access to the data without the encryption key.

Account Monitoring

As part of the Securing Data Simply service we monitor the backup accounts for unusual activity. If we detect unusual activity we may contact the account owner to enquire if they are having any difficulties.

As part of the service the IP address of all connections is recorded.

Criminal Investigations

If you are conducting a criminal investigation and wish to discuss access to a backup account please make initial contact by email.

Please note: We cannot provide access to the data without the encryption key.

Civil Investigations

Please re-read the statements above. We are not able to assist you in gaining access to the backup data.

If we identify unusual activity on an account we will inform the owner. If it is suspected that the encryption key has been compromised, allowing unauthorised access to the backup data, we will inform the law enforcement authorities, and co-operate fully in their enquiries.

It may be crazy that some low life drug running terrorist is protected ... but that is the law. Please do not ask us to break it.
